Program Purpose

The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) is designed to equip students with advanced biblical, theological, ministerial, and pastoral training for effective service in church leadership, missions, teaching, and counseling. It prepares candidates for ordained ministry, doctoral research, or other forms of Christian service.

Course Overview

The program includes core theological disciplines such as biblical studies, systematic theology, church history, pastoral care, homiletics, ethics, Christian education, and spiritual formation. It also incorporates practical ministry training, leadership development, and a research thesis.

Students will conduct independent research on a topic related to Christian Administration under the supervision of a faculty advisor. The research should demonstrate critical thinking, integration of biblical and administrative principles, and practical relevance to church or ministry management. The final output will include:

  • A written thesis (8,000 – 12,000 words)
  • A presentation and defense before a panel
  • A summary report for possible publication or church application

Title: Thesis Research and Writing

Credit Hours: 8

Description: Students must complete a well-researched, 15,000–20,000-word thesis on a relevant theological, biblical, pastoral, or ethical topic under the supervision of an academic advisor. This is a capstone demonstrating academic rigor and ministerial relevance.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, students will:

  • Interpret and teach Scripture with theological soundness.
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity and ethical leadership.
  • Communicate biblical truths effectively through preaching and teaching.
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling grounded in Christian principles.
  • Engage in theological research and defend the faith intellectually.
  • Lead and administrate local church or parachurch ministries.
